Have you seen the new Martha craft Halloween stuff at Michael's? If you haven't, get thee to Michael's, pronto! (You may want to call first to make sure they have it--my mom's store does not yet.) One reason I've always had a soft spot for ol' Martha is her unabashed love for Halloween that translates over to really great spooky projects in her magazine and now, products in her craft line. Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for so I'm always looking for something new and spooky!
I did a quick reconnaissance run yesterday to check out the new stuff and bought a package of black cupcake boxes, Halloween-colored bakers' tw
One thing that I didn't buy was an invitation kit using mock slide holders and plastic specimen slides. I'm hoping to have another Halloween party this year but I'll need a whole lot more than the 6 invitations the kit makes. It does give me some good ideas, and I bet I can find plain slide holders and slides in bulk somewhere else if I start looking now. Hmm, maybe a "mad scientist" theme for my party would be really fun!
So sorry about naptime. I guess its been about 9 months or so since my littlest completely gave up naps, you will notice a distinct decline in my blog posts coinciding with no more naptime. As a final ditch effort toward the end,we did a mommy and me book reading time. That helped for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for lett ing me know, a trip to Michael's is in order! :) I love her stuff and how she decorates for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteblack cupcake boxes, neat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips on the Halloween goodies. Halloween is my second favorite holiday to decorate for and I go all out. I love Martha for her Halloween ideas too - even though I am not a subscriber to her mag, I always pick up her Halloween issue. That witch is definitely coming home with me.
ReplyDeleteI just checked out Michael's and Martha's Halloween designs are really cute. I love decorating for Halloween, too. I am not really a big holiday decorator until it comes to Christmas but with the kids, Halloween starts off the "holiday season" so they love all that is spooky and kooky.
ReplyDeleteHave fun decorating and playing your party :)
Halloween is my favorite holiday and I have an annual party each year to celebrate. Thanks for the tips-I can't wait to go check out the stuff.
ReplyDeleteIf you want bulk slides and such check out American Science and Surplus: www.sciplus.com. They are located in Chicago, but you can get cheap science type stuff by mail. (oh, I am not affiliated or anything-I got "in trouble" on another blog for recommending a site once, LOL!!!!)
I think this is the first time I have commented, but I have been reading your blog for a while (thrifter too!!)
Boy are we alike! I was just thinking that I received the new Martha for September and I already cannot WAIT for the October issue. I'm all over the Michaels on Saturday, too.

PS - I owe you an email, coming soon!
I can't wait for fall, I am already itching to get out some decorations... About the Supernanny idea- it does work! I recently was struggling with my daughter (who is four), and tried explanation, bribes, punishment, pleading, and nothing would keep her in bed. I decided to do the Supernanny thing, and had to put her back in bed 63 times one night, but it worked! She's an angel at bedtime now.
