  1. Oh.

    My.

    God.

It was bad enough when I thought it was paint. But FOOD COLORING?

    Oh.

    My.

    God.

(It was nice to hear your voice, though!)

  3. Well, I hate to be a copycat, but

    Oh.

    My.

    God.

You sound so, well, calm. (Although it could have been a lot worse I guess. It wasn't on the carpeting. LOL)

Holy Cow.... How can you be so calm woman? I'd have screamed that cry of a woman on the edge clinging desperately on to life by her fingernails.... tell me the calm voice was for the camera and you freaked afterwards!??

hahahahahahahaha! Remember when Nick was about her age and he found a green ink pad and pressed his face and hands into it? hahahahahahahaha!

I'm glad you caught it on video.

  7. Oh. NO!

I'm watching at work, so it's on mute. So I'm suitably amused by a little painting episode. And THEN! It moved to the "scene of the crime" OH DEAR! FOOD COLORING! Did the bath even make a dent? Will your kitchen ever be the same?

Oh yeah, it's funny. When it's not your kid. Or counter tops. Or CHAIR!

  8. OH MY WORD! HOLY COW FOOD COLORING! I also want to know how you kept so calm? A little lemon juice and baking soad may help get it off quicker. Of course when I dyed my hands in High school with ritz dye while working on a prop for a play, I used straight bleach on my hands to get the dye off, but I would not suggest using that on little Maren.

I'm guessing that by the time they get to be Marin's age you learn to stay calm? Esp. when you have one of those super creative, strong willed types?

Please tell me that I'm right. I know that I just glimpsed a little slice of my future...

  10. Heidi,

Maren is adorable! It's hard not to freak out when they do things like that! My son wet a red ink pad and flung it all over the walls etc. It looked like someone had been murdered! A friend recomended a brillo pad, and that worked wonders!Just remember, soon she will be grown, and you can look back and laugh:)

    She is darling! {Love her hair.}

But, Oooh.my.gosh. What a mess! :) And with food coloring?! Yikes. I'm sitting here chuckling in an oh-my-goodness, what-do-you-do sort of way. ;) Oh man!!

You are totally human, and freaked out, I'm sure. Anyone would! But good job on the video! {Fun to hear your voice.} Anyone with toddlers can totally relate to this experience!

  12. Reminds me of the time my nephew thought he would "help" my sister put on her make-up for work. Dad was to be watching him, but you know how that goes. Deb was dead to the world and Steven took the El Producto black marker and put her eye shadow, blush, lipstick and then "powdered her all over." I thought I would die from the laughing at her. I was hyperventilating!

It took it weeks to wear off completely.

  13. holy cow ! Food coloring?!?
I hope by the time Maren is 30 and married she is no longer 'purple handed'...

  14. Friends have told me that having a child was "like discovering a new color. The love is so strong." Clearly they were right. I think there were some new colors on her hands, the counter.... and your love..STRONG! You are a strong woman!

Can you parlay this video into a well deserved date night?

  15. My jaw literally dropped and then I gasped and my boys who happened to be standing by the computer when I watched started laughing. Oh girl I am so sorry. I feel for you I really really do. I now think the crayon art on our wood stairs and the playdough sculptures on our cement basement walls are nothing.

  16. wow.

    Wow, wow....ohhhhh wow!
So, did you put down the video camera and cry?
You're gonna laugh about it some day. Maybe not in this decade, but someday!
May the force be with you. :)
