It's a...

BOY!!!

I thought it was a boy, and I was right! It looks like more people guessed boy on my last post, so I must be putting out some kind of 'boy' vibes. I'm excited and a little nervous--I'm a pretty girly girl, so having a boy will be a challenge for me! The baby looks perfectly healthy and it was fun to watch him swimming around on the u/s screen. I think we're going out to eat tonight to celebrate and we still have lots more phone calls to make to tell our family, so I'll choose my winner later and post who it is tomorrow. Thank you all for playing along and guessing! :)

  5. CONGRATS!!
Hey - being a fellow 'recent returnee' from Disney (we got there the day you left!!), I thought of you tonight while we were in Home Depot. If you have any dealers of BEHR paint nearby, you must go check out their paint samples! They have a line called DISNEY COLORS, and they do their samples on little 2" x 3" cards in the shape of Mouse Ears - TOO FUN!! I picked up several samples for accents in my scrapbook, but I'm sure that you would think of some really cool ideas for them!! If you can't find them, let me know and I'll send some off to you 8-)!!

  6. Yippee! I have a boy and a girl and I love having one of each sex - they are so completely different to raise (but in a really good way). Glad all is healthy as well - you deserve a celebration out!

  7. Congrats!

That darn Chinese calendar was right again! I am super girlie too and my friends and family didn't think I could do the boy thing, but I think I have figured it out pretty well:) Boys are super lovey and snuggly, and on the other side they are crazy and do wild things your girls never did! You will do great!

  8. You are going to love having a boy! I know it's a way off, but a 7 year old boy is just about the sweeeeetest thing!! They really give girls a run for their money at that age. Well all school age boys are pretty smitten with their mommas. You will love it! And, I will love seeing that collection of vintage space stuff put to use! LOL Congrats!

  10. Great news! I now have two girls so I cannot comment on the raising of a boy, but you will be a great mom to a boy just as you are to your sweet daughter.

  12. Maren was so busy and into everything, that you are totally ready to be the mom of a boy. :) In fact, he might be totally mellow, just for balance.

    So excited for you guys!

  13. That's great, exciting news! I was shocked to hear "Boy" at our ultrasound and very excited. But like you, I am more of a girly person - all about dolls and pink. But let me tell you, I have enjoyed my boy so much so far! I am loving the trucks and trains and camping-themed things. And now you get to do your vintage space-theme room! Boys are great! Best wishes and enjoy the second half of your pregnancy. I am so happy everything looked good.

  14. Yay! Congratulations! I've got one of each, and both are great, in completely different ways. My son was our first, and he was as fun and sweet as can be.

  16. I have to tell you, I am constantly amazed how much I love having a boy! I've always dreamed of a girl (and hope to still have one) but my little boy is the best. They really love their mamas!

    Congrats!

  17. Hooray for puppy dog tails!! You will LOVE having a boy. They are so fun and make you understand men in general so much more. Plus they are way snugglier than girls. Woohoo!

  18. Hi Heidi Jo,
Just found out from Makena reading your blog what you are having!! Congrats on your news. Yes, boys are sure different. Just hug and bond a lot and he'll feel like his mom hung the moon and you'll be okay.
    I'm happy for you honey.
    Much love,

  20. I was terrified to find out that I was having a boy! Scared to death... I just didn't know what to do with a boy, especially after having a little girl... Trust me, it's wonderful. Little boys are so sweet, plus you don't have to worry about making sure they look just perfect in that little dress that's gonna get a stain or spit up all over it. You can just say... "it's ok, he's a little boy", in his mismatched and dirty clothes, and you won't feel so bad.
    Trust me, I know...
    Congrats,
    Courtney

  21. yay yay yay! don't worry Heidi you are gonna be a great boy momma. Didn't you know that boys love to search for "treasure" too? Yes they may be cicada shells and cool rocks but its still fun. And besides at least you have a manly man around to balance things out. Me on the other hand- not being "girly" and not having any other girls in the house am convinced I would not be good at raising girls- which would explain why I have all boys. And I love em-
