And this is why I can never get anything done around here...

Alternate post title: Why has nobody invented boarding schools for 2-year-olds?

This is what happened in my bathroom this morning, in the time it took me to scrub half the baseboards in the stairs and run to the basement to switch the laundry.

He works fast, I'll give him that.
I read other blogs and always wonder how the authors manage to get so many projects done and cute crafts made.
They must not have two-year-olds in their houses.
Or maybe they have one of those mythical creatures of whom I've only heard about and dreamed of: a non-destructive, well-behaved toddler.
We don't have one of those in our house. He starts first grade when?

  1. We installed these magnet locks on our cabinets when Jack was little. They were brilliant and kid proof.

I also used to lock a lot of the doors to keep him out of stuff.

So, I guess my answer is - lock up the stuff or him. Or both. LOL

  2. I am glad to see this doesn't just happen to me:) Scarlette got into diaper cream that I had forgotten was in her room and had it in her hair and funny enough on her baby dolls bottom! I came to the same conclusion about getting projects done... plus it doesn't help that we moved again and I am still finding homes for things!

  3. Oh Heidi!! That little guy beats all!
But as you already know, what wonderful qualities... curious, independent and full of adventure!
Trust me, they grow up to be leaders and trendsetters!
    Happy December Heidi!

  4. Love those feet! How in the world did you get it to come off? Mine is 7 and still writing on walls, so I don't think I can offer any words of wisdom. But those locks sound like a good idea!

I am ROFL at this post. Was he trying to paint his toenails with your nail polish and eye shadow?? That is what it looks like. He is such a little pistol....good thing he's so cute!!

  6. I had one of those magical toddlers, but she was not full-time magical. She had her moments, usually when I was lulled into a false sense of security! Which was probably her plan, now that I think about it. She's 19 and in her first year of college, what I wouldn't give to have those days back even as crazy as a redheaded girl could be!

  7. I know I shouldn't laugh - but his little toes covered in paint! lol.

This incident reminds me of Maren's, from way back when, and the kitchen stools... Wasn't that food coloring? or was it paint...? Blanking out right now - but that's tough to have a little trouble maker! (Something I get to look forward to in another two years!)

Two year olds are so darned cute for a reason!

  8. Oh Porter! Not fun for Mom, but sure gives all of us a chuckle. I love his little legs - scratches, bruises, scuffs - he's all boy, I can tell that. (With the minor exception of teh nail polish.....)
