Vintage love: faceted black glass buttons

I dumped out my jar of black buttons the other day and realized how many of these gorgeous black faceted glass buttons I've managed to collect.
I love all the different patterns of the facets.

They're just as pretty and stylish today as they were when they were made decades ago.

  1. Those really are gorgeous. I don't think I have any buttons like those, but I absolutely treasure my black faceted glass beaded necklace that belonged to my mother-in-law.

  2. The buttins are fabulous, which led me to the 1950's vintage balck and white dress, oh, heaven!

Reminded me I have two vintage dresses I found in a used furniture store (of all places) last year. They were hand made in the forties, fit perfectly, but both are navy with white polka dots (must have been a sale on yardage!), although two different styles. I will however, be in trouble if I have gained any weight while hibernating over the winter, they were, um, shall we say, snug?!

  3. Ooo lovely! These would be lovely in a frame like the colored ones you showed. Maybe with a colored patterned paper behind it? :)
