I bought very little this year, even less than last year which I thought then was a small amount. I went prepared to spend and saw plenty of delightful things, but for whatever reason I didn't see much that I just couldn't live without.
What did I buy? Two old canning jars full of buttons, and several small baggies of buttons as well. I cannot resist a good jar of old buttons! The possibility of finding treasure inside those jars just gets me every time. These jars were reasonably priced and I had at least that much fun sorting them all out on my kitchen table. I'm always looking for large buttons to make button flowers with, and found plenty to replenish my stash.

The only other things I bought were a few old flash cards with fun words and the first initial of our last name, and a fun mercury glass toadstool. That was it! I think there weren't quite as many vendors there this year, and it seemed like there was so much big stuff--I tend towards smalls and things I can use in my crafting (or more accurately, stuff in my closet with the plans to get around to using someday) and I just didn't find much of that this year. I was also hoping for more patriotic-themed items to use in my Fourth of July decor but they were in short supply as well.Ah well. It was still a fun day, and I so enjoyed shopping with friends who share my love of chippy paint! That made it all worth it, and I'll try again next year.
You found a pretty assortment of buttons. I like the lined ones and the roses. I hope you are well friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your report. After you mentioned it last year, I thought I would try to get down there this year. As it turned out, something important came up at home so I didn't go. Love the buttons, though - jars of buttons always call my name too!
